Her efforts and contributions to society have been recognised worldwide. At only 32 years of age, she has accumulated a remarkable collection of awards on her bookshelf. To name a few: Aimee was awarded the La France Prize (2015) and appointed as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (2011).

“I advocate humility in the performance of our activities,” are the words of wisdom that Aimee wanted to share with us. Next to modesty, Aimee Abra Tenu has a set of virtues that enabled her to change our world for the better.

Aimee is at the forefront of initiatives that make a true difference in this world though education, empowerment, recycling and nutrition. She is currently the president of the non-profit organisation Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus (STEJ Togo). STEJ is active throughout semi-urban and rural areas in Togo, and is committed to educating children and women and providing drinking water.

Since 2017, Aimee is the head of “Viva” space, a 100% ecological space, built with recycled objects, that functions as a community centre for youngsters and adults in Lomé.

“It is important to teach children the importance of a green planet from an early age,” Aimee says.

“Viva is a unique space of expression for all those committed, that also protects our dear environment by making our waste valuable again and giving it a second life.”
